DEFENSIVE DRIVING COURSES (DDC) PROGRAM INFORMATION

DDC-4

DDC-4 is a fast-paced driver improvement program that also makes an ideal refresher course. In just half a day, DDC-4 offers practical strategies to reduce collision-related injuries, fatalities, and costs. It addresses the importance of attitude in preventing accidents, and reinforces the good driving skills students already have. Most importantly, DDC 4 shows students the consequences of the choices they make behind the wheel, and puts defensive driving in a personal context.

DDC-8/6 – The Original Defensive Driving Course

DDC-8/6 is a comprehensive driver improvement program with a basic six-hour curriculum that you can expand to eight hours if required by your state or your specific training needs. DDC-8/6 is an interactive course designed to give drivers practical knowledge and techniques to avoid collisions and violations, and to choose safe, responsible, and lawful driving behaviors. The new 8th edition features updated statistics, driving tips, and a section that can be customized with local driving statutes.

DDC Online

DDC Online offers all the content and quality of our traditional classroom training program, without the travel expense and time. It’s affordable for one person, or an entire organization – even across various locations. DDC Online has practical strategies to reduce collision-related injuries, fatalities, and costs. It addresses the importance of attitude in preventing accidents, and reinforces the good driving skills students already have. Most importantly, it shows the consequences of the choices they make behind the wheel, and puts defensive driving in a personal context.

DDC-PTD Professional Truck Driver

Professional truck drivers are involved in fewer collisions than other motorists, but collisions involving trucks are far more deadly and costly. DDC-PTD gives truck drivers defensive driving techniques that help them avoid collisions and violations. Like our other DDC courses, it focuses on personal responsibility and the consequences of the driving decisions we make.

DDC–PTD Professional Truck Drive Online Program

DDC-PTD Online is a convenient alternative to our classroom course and is just as effective in providing proven techniques for avoiding collisions and their related costs. Simple directions and navigation allow users to complete the course with ease, without compute knowledge. Drivers can train anywhere there’s a compouter and an internet connection. No software is needed.

The Dynamics of Fleet Safety Course

The Dynamics of Fleet Safety Course is designed for safety supervisors and managers of all type of fleets — trucks, buses and motor coaches, cars, vans, motorcycles, fork lifts — from a wide range of industries. The course demonstrates best practices in motor vehicle safety, collision prevention and asset use. Whether you’re a new fleet safety manager or a seasoned veteran, the four-hour Dynamics of Fleet Safety program will help you run an effective and efficient fleet safety operation.

Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operators Fire and Ambulance Training Programs (CEVO)

When the lights and sirens go on, the risk of collision goes up for everyone on the road. The National Safety Council now offers their proven coaching programs as the first cost-effective emergency vehicle driver training and testing on the web. The programs are specifically designed to help emergency vehicle operators refresh and improve their driving skills in both emergency and non-emergency situations.

DDC-Alive at 25

This highly interactive four-hour program encourages young drivers between the ages of 15 and 24 to take responsibility for their driving behavior. Skill practices and on-the-spot defensive driving techniques help change bravado to confidence.

DDC Alive at 25 Parent Program

In an effort to save the lives of thousands of teens each year and reduce the risk of teen crashes on our nation’s highways, NSC has developed a course to help parents understand and manage their teen through the learning-to-drive GDL process. This interactive program presents practical advice to reduce the risks of teen driving, and encourages parent-teen cooperation and involvement throughout the entire process of learning to drive.

Attitudinal Dynamics of Driving

Attitudinal Dynamics of Driving specifically targets problem drivers. This highly effective program shows drivers the direct connection between their attitude and their driving behaviors. It helps them recognize that their reckless driving and its consequences result from their own choices, and guides them towards accepting responsibility for their actions.

Defensive Driving Course Self-Study Program

Teach driver safety to your own employees onsite, in about 90 minutes, with the National Safety Council’s NEW Defensive Driving Course (DDC) Self-Study Program. Based on our proven effective Defensive Driving Course, it’s perfect for individual motorists or fleet drivers unable to attend regular DDC classes. It’s also a great refresher course.

DDC-Professional Truck Driver Self Study Program

The ideal choice for training busy over-the-road truck drivers unable to attend a classroom course.  Employees can take the course at work or home, completing the materials in segments, in about 90 minutes. Students are evaluated using an open-book multiple choice test, submitted to NSC for grading and certificate issuance.

Distracted Driving Resource Kit

This toolkit was developed to inform companies about the dangers of distracted driving and to help them create their own cell phone and PDA use policy. Delivered on CD, it includes the information and materials needed to implement the policy and gain employee acceptance company-wide.
