Another Campus Shooting Prompts CDC ResponseThe recent killings at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb were the fifth fatal shooting incident at a U.S. college or university in the past six months, according to the Associated Press. In response to this latest incident, the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has posted the following information on school violence, including mental health information for students, parents and school personnel. The National Safety Council supports the CDC’s reminder of the importance of emergency preparedness and response. |
