Council issues statement on election results

National Safety Council President & CEO Janet Froetscher issued the following statement regarding the results of the 2008 presidential election:

"We look forward to working with President-Elect Obama and his team to save lives and prevent injuries at work, in our homes and communities, and on our roads. National Safety Council staff worked with the president-elect on passage of Illinois' primary seat belt bill in 2003. Those who worked with him know firsthand his commitment to safety issues. We eagerly await him putting his team in place and working with them to save lives."
