International road safety conference scheduled for 2009

The National Safety Council is helping NIOSH organize the first international conference dedicated to the prevention of roadway traffic crashes, a leading cause of workplace death and injury around the world.

The International Conference on Road Safety at Work (.pdf file), scheduled for Feb. 16-18, 2009, is co-sponsored by the World Health Organization, Pan American Health Organization, International Labor Organization and U.S. Department of State. Experts from government, business, labor and the research community will be invited to discuss prevention strategies and exchange ideas.
