OSHA is one of several federal agencies that has jurisdiction over the nation's transportation infrastructure. The agency's jurisdiction over interstate motor vehicles is limited to vehicles operated in the workplace, such as warehouses, plants, grain-handling facilities, retail locations, marine terminals, wharves, piers and shipyards.

OSHA's jurisdictional responsibility is evident when noting the most frequently cited OSHA violations in transportation and warehousing during fiscal year 2007.
