Council applauds appointment of Arias to new CDC post

The National Safety Council congratulates Ileana Arias on her appointment as deputy director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Arias has been CDC's director of the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control since 2005. As a strategic partner to NCIPC, the council has had many opportunities to work with Arias on areas of mutual interest, including teen driving; transportation safety; and employee, home and community safety. The council wishes her well in her new role and looks forward to opportunities for greater integration and visibility of injury prevention and safety promotion within CDC.
