CSB releases video on combustible dust
Chemical Safety Board Chairman John Bresland calls for comprehensive combustible dust regulation in a new 30-minute CSB video about the hazard.
Combustible Dust: An Insidious Hazard uses news footage, still photographs and computer animation to depict the dangers of combustible dust explosions. The video features industry experts who warn against complacency, how a worksite provides fuel for the explosions and how to prevent combustible dust from accumulating.
Currently stalled in the House Workforce Protections Subcommittee, the Worker Protection Against Combustible Dust Explosions and Fires Act of 2009 (H.R. 849), introduced Feb. 4, would force OSHA to promulgate a standard on combustible dust.
