New NEP targets hazardous chemicals
A new national emphasis program from OSHA aims to prevent toxic fires and explosions by targeting facilities that house large amounts of hazardous chemicals.
The PSM-Covered Chemical Facilities NEP (.pdf file) will be a one-year pilot program in which OSHA will inspect worksites that have hazardous chemicals in quantities covered by the agency's process safety management standard (29 CFR 1910.119).
